Rewarding employee talent and commitment

Our 240,000 talented employees have enthusiasm. They are bursting with imagination. They don’t hesitate for a second to give their best and to go the extra mile every day. Each has their own way of welcoming the world. Hasn’t the time come to congratulate the most outstanding amongst them?

For the fifth year running Asia Pacific has decided to reward its talented employees for their passion and commitment to customer service and their ability to help others to progress. Here’s a round- up of these rare gems who have stood out in 2016!

Record-breaking talent

Izaac Siwy is someone who likes to excel in whatever he does. He has occupied the post of Director of Hotel Sales Performance since 2010. His motivation and hard work have paid off as shown by his division’s excellent financial results! These are not his only qualities. Izaac is also innovative. He is one of those talented employees ready to bring about change, a key element in a Group focused on transformation!

Talented employees with a natural passion  

What do the following 7 talented employees have in common? Their passion for customer service of course! More than a state of mind, it is a value embedded in the DNA of AccorHotels.

Imagine for a moment Chef Naron of Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, bringing the final touch to his dish. Then imagine the same chef going out to meet his customers and offering them a dish specially made to reflect the desires and preferences of each person!

Pushpak Kumar and Vidia Novita Sari Pohan are both crucial to customer satisfaction. They have enabled their respective hotels – the Bengaluru Techpark complex in India and Novotel Bali Ngurah Rai Airport – to rise to the top of the Midscale TripAdvisor ranking table for the region for the Novotel!

Gioia Poli, in charge of Customer Service at ibis Perth and Maxime Beyer of Novotel Ambassador in Seoul are both attentive to the smallest request made by their guests. They never fail to give a positive response in all circumstances! For regular customers at her hotel Maxime has set up a dedicated platform to take their preferences into account. A mark of attention which always results in a positive experience!

There’s no passion without a resolutely positive mindset! Mohanthas Nadarajah of ibis Singapore on Bencoolen and Kathlene Marin, Director of Guest Experience Greater China, are perfect examples of this. Their natural good humor has made them admired and respected by their teams who see both of them as models.

 

Talented and inspirational employees

If employees show the strength of their commitment in their everyday actions, their passion resonates even more in a professional environment where initiative and risk-taking have their place. These annual awards are also a celebration of the leaders who know how to bring out the energy of their teams and who are capable of helping their talented employees to progress.
Kylie Duncan, Sales and Marketing Director at the Pullman Sydney Hyde Park and Emma Larantukan, Quality & Training Manager at the Royal Beach Seminyak in Bali, both share the desire to make future leaders of their talented employees.
 
Now ask the teams at Novotel in Manilla what they think of their sous-chef, Edwin Infante.  As a leader, coach and mentor, there’s no doubt that Edwin is inspirational.

Committed and talented employees

But motivation is worth nothing if we don’t evolve in a work environment which is meaningful and respects both the planet and people. It is no accident that one employee out of 10 is today involved in a charitable project with us.

What do Tran Thi Canh, Housekeeper at Mgallery in Hanoi and Lui Chi Ting Terence, Talent & Culture Manager of Novotel Citygate in Hong Kong have in common? They have both enabled their respective hotels to obtain Planet 21 certification as part of our worldwide sustainable development program!  This is proof that that their strength of will, motivation and commitment to a more responsible hotel industry have paid off. Manabu Watanabe can also be proud of what he has achieved at the Mercure Sapporo in Japan. In the job since the hotel’s opening, he has played a crucial role in the hotel’s energy savings and CSR transformation!

Kristen Pirie of Novotel Rotorua Lakeside and SV Sathyam, Director of Talent & Culture at Novotel Hyderabad Airport, are also examples for all the Group. Under their leadership, they have created an impressive number of CSR initiatives. And the list goes on!
Finally, congratulations to Gemma Bennett, in charge of customer relations at Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific for her devotion to the town of Manly, particularly close to her heart.

 

For discriminating gourmets & food lovers

It would be impossible to close these awards without a final touch to wake up your taste buds. Sofitel Kunming, Pullman Saigon Centre, Novotel Rotorua Lakeside, Novotel Melbourne Glen Waverley and Pullman Jakarta are all unbeatable in their respective regions. They largely deserve the Food & Beverage prize which has been awarded to them!

Audacity and creativity are key elements in building tomorrow’s AccorHotels group and these exceptional performances are proof that surpassing oneself, commitment and passion always bring success. Bravo, everyone!
