Proven sales & events experience, consistently meeting or exceeding targets

Previous experience working in the hotel sector

Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level

Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and position them against competitors

Demonstrable experience in developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions

Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

Key tasks

Sales and Events Requirements
• Pays visits to former, existing and potential clients in view of entering into contracts with commercial accounts. Target at average 20-25 sales per week.
• Invite clients for site visits and entertainment. Target at a minimum 3 site inspections per week.
• Responsible for bringing incremental business and sales for events at High-So, Xperience and SO VIP of SO Sofitel
• Proactively solicit and pursue for potential business to drive Event Sales from both existing and new corporate clients and event companies through regular sales calls, telemarketing and entertainments
• Work closely with the respective departments of both hotels to ensure all events to run seamlessly and smoothly through effective communications and meetings
• Ensures that all complaints have initiated follow-up action.
• Create innovative packages to boost sales in anticipation of lull period in advance
• Strive to Increase and enhance customers’ satisfaction in order to generate repeat business
• Attends and respond to all event enquiries within 24 hours including follow up
• At all times to promote a positive image of the hotel in all forms of contact.
• Increase the conversion rate for events
• Conduct site inspection and Entertainment to potential clients to close sales as well as increasing the no. of sales leads
• Prepare and send out the proposals and contracts to clients covering the venue, type of function, menu, accommodation, deposit, cancellation clauses, etc.
• Prepare P & L to ensure that GOP is met at all times
• Manage costs and expenses within the given budget boundaries
• Create opportunities to upsell during event planning
• Ensure that all events are entered in Opera
• Update daily sales activities in Anais on a weekly basis and send it to Director of Sales/Director of Key Accounts
• Organise and hold post mortem meetings for key events if follow up is required
• Organise and chair weekly Banquet Event Order Operations Meeting
• Sell all Hotel Services, with particular focus on up selling and add on sales to heighten the client experience and add revenue for the business.
• Defines precisely guest requirements and ensures that the guest services offered corresponds effectively to their requests.
• Provides after-sales service and in particular to ensure all guests complaints are taken seriously and discussed with the respective departments if necessary. Alert management of any potential concerns to enable prompt attention
• Finalize all event invoicing, billing and payments in PM accounts
• Co-ordinate and liaise with the marketing team for production of events collateral & material, e.g. conference kits, EDM, etc.
• Participation in promotional and sales activities with Sofitel Sales and Marketing teams
• Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnership with vendors and suppliers
• Research and update the management on Market intelligence such as pricing and promotions from Compset
• Represent Sofitel at trade shows, seminars and promotional activities / events as and when is required.
• Work with Cluster Director of Sales & Business Development on the yearly budget
• May require to work after office hours and report to work on weekends and public holidays whenever there is a client event taking place

• Prepare and send out all proposals, contracts & BEO’s
• Knows the competitors product and price policy
• Keep a record on former, existing, potential clients and a profile of each of them
• Update clients’ information and contacts in hotel’s events database
• Attend department briefing and weekly meeting to share the information regarding accounts, productions
Competitors and all important information as well as sharing sales plan
• Organizes regular visits in accordance to a predetermined plan.
Prepare a tentative monthly schedule to record all sales and other related actives for the preceding month.
• Presents a summary of his/her visits to Director of Sales/Director of Key Accounts on a weekly basis prior to and after the week is completed.
• To ensure the smooth running operation of the commercial section in consultation with the Director of Sales/Director of Key Accounts on all matters.
• Ensures that the invoicing effectively corresponds to all services agreed upon and rendered.
• Ensures that all new clients have no negative credit references.
• Records all daily sales calls.
• Records the statistics of his/her accounts.
• Submits production reports on his/her list of accounts on a monthly basis.
• Conducts group briefing to other staff within the corporate section when required

Financial and Revenue Responsibilities
• Adhere to the department budget through the Purchase Order System and inventory controls.
• Be pro-active in controlling costs being fully aware of forecasted business and targeted profitability whilst maintaining standards
