Key tasks

Job Overview

Manages Event and Reservation functions and events team on a daily basis including the departments of Event Planning and Event Technology. The position has overall responsibility for executing all hotel events with a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales while consistently delivering a high level of service. The Meeting, Events and Reservation Manager also ensures team maximizes revenue opportunities by up-selling and accurately forecasting (catering and group rooms) allevents. The position is also responsible for achieving guest and team member satisfaction and for managing the financial performance of the department.


Previous experience working within the Events and Banquets department is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Dealing with all enquiries efficiently and effectively, offering the highest levels of customer service
•Capitalising on all enquiries to ensure maximum conversion to confirmed bookings
•Build relationships with all Event Organisers
•Compilation and distribution of function sheets
•Keep up to date paper and system based records using Delph
•Liaise between the client and the M&E Operations team
•Maintain awareness of the competitor set
•Support the Sales team in obtaining leads and participating in promotional activities
•Ensure follow up calls are made and any complaints resolved swiftly
•Strong selling skills and understanding of sales processes; can effectively up sell products and services
•Financial management skills e.g., ability to analyze P&L statements, forecasting and capital expenditure planning
•Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems
•Knowledge of governmental regulations and safety standards
